What's the difference between perimenopause and menopause?+
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause, when hormone levels begin to fluctuate and symptoms often start, sometimes years before your periods stop. Menopause is the point when you've gone twelve months without a period. Dr. Luciano cares for women through every part of this journey, from the earliest changes through the years that follow.
Do I have to become a member for menopause care?+
No. Standard medical care is the primary path, with or without a membership. Your evaluation, hormone therapy, and follow-ups are available with Dr. Luciano at transparent cash prices, and we're working to become in-network with insurance. If you'd like a longer, deeper visit, you can also book a single pay-per-visit consultation. The membership is an optional upgrade for women who want extra attention: direct messaging, same-week appointments, and ongoing, higher-touch support.
Is hormone therapy right for me?+
It depends on your symptoms, your health history, and your goals. Hormone therapy is one of several evidence-based tools Dr. Luciano may recommend, and she'll walk you through whether it's appropriate for you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Why join the membership if I can use my insurance?+
You don't have to. Your menopause evaluation, hormone therapy, and follow-ups can be billed to your insurance through standard visits. The membership is entirely optional. It's for women who want longer visits, faster access, messaging between appointments, and lifestyle coaching, the things insurance doesn't cover. You're paying for time, access, and convenience, not for the medical care itself.
How is membership different from a standard visit?+
Menopause and midlife care often needs more time and attention than a standard visit allows. The membership is designed around longer, unhurried appointments, more convenient access to Dr. Luciano, and a plan that's revisited and refined as your needs change. You're still seeing the same board-certified gynecologist, just with the time and continuity this stage of life deserves.
Can I use my insurance?+
Membership itself is a separate fee, but commercial insurance can be utilized for lab work and imaging, and HSA and FSA funds may be applied toward membership fees. Dr. Luciano also contracts directly with Quest and LabCorp for cash-pay pricing.
Why is there a 6-month minimum commitment?+
An individualized care plan takes time to implement and produce results. The 6-month commitment gives your plan the opportunity to take root, and gives you the chance to experience the real benefits of this investment in your health.
